This is the second of a four-episode series I did with Tim Staton on the characteristics required of a powerful leader. We introduced the necessity of self-development for leaders in Episode 1. In this episode, we dig into the need to develop courage.
Courage is foundational to a leader. Leadership almost by definition courts risk: risk of failure, of rejection, of conflict, of exposure. Without it, a person wouldn’t have the heart to embrace a challenge, confront an adversary, have a difficult conversation, or step into fear instead of being stopped by it.
How then do we develop courage? This is the question that Tim and I consider.
